Unilateral disarmament started WWII. It did not stop it. It did not win the Cold War. That solution was MAD coupled with a massive increase in defense spending.All of that has been scuttled and reversed in the first 18 months of the Obama Regime. The actions of the regime has been characterized by many in the press as naive and unrealistic.
Using the weapons on Japan shortened the war for BOTH Japan and the U.S.A. Broadcasting the restrictions on use was unnecessary and ignorant. It will certainly invite new attacks.
Ruling against the will of the voters, ruling against the advise of history. The Nobel Prize was not earned before it was given, and this will not have an effect of creating more peace. In Fact, it will cause more aggression and proliferation, and reduce our ability to deter. Our friends were betrayed in east Europe, and our enemies are emboldened.
