Diversity and Fairness

Missed this one today, Rush.

June 28, 2007 is a RED LETTER DAY.

Illegal Alien Amnesty defeated for the fourth time, AND elimination of racial discrimination in publicly funded education by the supreme court.

Mixed into this is the discussion on achieving diversity and the "fairness" doctrine.

Here's what you missed. All three share a common thread: 1984 NEWSPEAK.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspeak

Race is not about diversity. Obsession with appearance only guarantees appearances are diverse. Real diversity is the presence of diverse IDEAS. To say that race doesn't matter, then enforce a policy based on race is 1984 NEWSPEAK, with a little Animal Farm thrown in for good measure. All pigs are created equal but some pigs are more equal than others. Brown vs. Brown was fought because a child could not attend a public school within walking distance because of his race. The latest filing was...you guessed it: because a child could not attend a public school within walking distance because of his race.

Fairness is not about controlling what is said on the airwaves. 1984 NEWSPEAK is about controlling what is said on the airwaves. Fairness is about the diversity of IDEAS. Talk radio, the target of the "Fairness Doctrine" IS THE OTHER SIDE. If it were not for talk radio, then a bill 80% of the population opposes would have become law. Sounds fair to me.

Finally, the illegal Alien issue. Again 1984 NEWSPEAK. To forgive a crime of someone who isn't even a citizen and does not want to become a citizen, and deny the same amnesty for real citizens, clearly shows the rampant abuse of power by the media and government complex. It is not and never was about IMMIGRATION, it is about THE RULE OF LAW. If the elected officials continue to pursue a course of not enforcing the laws they enacted, then we have no use of laws or them. Government DOES NOT EQUAL people.
